TEACHING

"Raffi is, without a doubt, one of the most engaging cello teachers I have had.  His creative energy and his familiarity with diverse genres of music bring an exploratory dimension to our lessons that always encourages me to push my musical boundaries in new and exciting ways. It is a pleasure to learn with a teacher who gives me so much agency and confidence in my musical choices."

I love teaching! I've been teaching privately since 2015 with students ranging from age 7 to age 70. I taught for three years with the Harmony Program, an educational nonprofit in NYC, and have one year of training in Suzuki Pedagogy at the School For Strings. My specialty is in introducing students to folk music, klezmer music, and the practice of learning by ear, and I offer that to beginning to advanced musicians on cello or any instrument. I also teach beginning cello and music theory.
